Judges Speak
Consistent with the ABA charter "to apply the knowledge
and experience of the profession to the promotion of the public good," and the
latitude of Judicial Canon 4(A) to "speak, write, lecture, teach and participate in
other activities concerning the law, the legal system and the administration of
justice," state and federal judges have become more vocal on the consequences of the
drug war on the legal system and the administration of justice. Below are views of
judges that have come to our attention. We invite judges to submit published
and non-published writings for inclusion on this page, and request readers to tell us of
additional articles by judges that belong here.
